Sitting on electric cars in the cool breath of autumns and the romantic West Lake tourists watches the blue sky over a vast lake. Tourists will soon leave behind noise and dust of the busy streets to soak in the pure space of emotions, wandering along the romantic road full of lotus flowers, historical places and temples.  On the way, when the lake lingers with sunbeams, visitors will see the thin mist flying like a silk table, touching the heart by recalling great poetry of the ancient predecessors.


Tran Quoc Pagoda, one of the oldest temples in Hanoi and Vietnam, still preserves many valuable ancient artifacts, especially statues of Shakyamuni Nirvana, considered the most beautiful statue of Nirvana. Van Nien Temple of more than 1,000 years of history lying on the peaceful West Lake, is the ancient ruins of a large scale relics, a great beauty place in the west of the ancient capital of Thang Long Hanoi. From the entrance of Van Nien Temple, travelers follow the Japanese romantic road, winding along the small lakes of fragrant lotus flowers (Lotus flowers start blooming from April to September) and enjoy a mood of exotic relaxation.

At the Soc Temple, Xuan La village worshiping Saint Giong, there recalls the legend that after defeating the enemy, Saint Giong had a rest in the peaceful place. Since then, villagers built a temple to honor his contribution to the country. Soc Temple Festival takes place on the 6th of January (lunar calendar) every year and the larger scale festival is held once every five years. The Thien Nien Pagoda, the brand name of which is epigraphic Millennium, (often called Trich Sai)  is located in Xuan La Ward, close to the shores of West Lake. Legend has it that the Temple was built during the reign of King Ly Nam De (544-548). The era of Le Thanh Tong (1460 - 1497) put up shrines for his wives. Since 1893, the abbot expanded the Temple, acquiring more statues and casting bronze bell.

 Tay Ho Shrine is the highlight attracting many visitors, is situated on a peninsula between the West Lake and the West Lake village of Quang An Ward. The Shrine worships Mother Lieu Hanh, one of the four immortals and representing a stronger role of mothers.  It is also associated with the legend of the second reunion of Lieu Hanh with the abdomen Phung Khac Khoan. Standing on the peninsula, visitors will enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the City.  If you want to enjoy a character of Ha Thanh (literally means Hanoi) cuisine, this is a great place for visitors to enjoy the famous shrimp cakes.

The journey around the West Lake also visits Voi Phuc Temple, Sai Pagoda, Vong Thi Pagoda, Ly Tu Trong Flower Garden, Nghi Tam Communal House, and Kim Lien Pagoda, etc. The small winding road lets us experience the beauty of the West Lake: the ancient Tran Quoc Pagoda, romantic and poetic Youth Road; ocean to the west is the vast lake watching the waves going to shores.

Since the early 2012, the sightseeing tour around the West Lake has attracted a large number of tourists and foreigners who will enjoy the visit 20 cultural and historical places on the journey.

Ticket clerk at the Tran Quoc Pagoda, says on weekdays the tour usually arranges two shuttle cars, but on Saturday and Sunday there are usually three cars. Since the introduction of the tour sightseeing around West Lake, most people live around the Lake have used the service. There are many times, when 5-7 people rent a tram and go holidays and sightseeing (20 cultural historical places) around the Lake. On their journey around the Lake, guests select a place to stop for about 15 minutes. The tour is free for children under three years of age. There are a range of pick up and drop off points along the road.
