Take an overnight countryside excursion to the Mekong Delta. There, cruise by private sampan (traditional boat) through the vast network of canals, visiting colorful floating markets and rural villages. Next, fly to Hue, the former capital. Tour the Imperial Citadel (the Forbidden Purple City), see royal tombs and pagodas along the Perfume River, and have dinner in a private home while listening to classical Vietnamese musicians. Visit charming Hoi An, a UNESCO-designated World Heritage site and riverfront town crammed with historic homes, tiny museums, cafes, and bustling silk and fish markets. Continue to Hanoi, one of Asia's most attractive cities. Ride in a cyclo through the French Quarter, and stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake. See a performance of the traditional water puppets. Tour the fascinating Old Quarter, packed with hundreds of specialty shops selling silk clothing, bamboo cooking utensils, ceremonial objects and much more. The final stop on your trip is a day trip to Halong Bay. This area boasts a spectacular natural environment with more than 3,000 tiny islands. Day 1: Arrive Ho Chi Minh City (No meal)

Your flight from the USA stops over in either Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan or South Korea. From there, you will take a connecting flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival at Ho Chi Minh's Tan Son Nhat International airport, you will be greeted by our guide and transferred to your hotel in town. We will have a short introduction to our country including travel tips, useful advice covering food, culture, safety, traffic...Depending on your arrival time, we will have a short guided city tour. Free for the evening. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City Tour (Breakfast, lunch)

In the morning we will enjoy a private tour of key attractions in Ho Chi Minh City, the country's commercial center and home to a growing number of upscale restaurants and shops. Visit China town, the Thien Hau Pagoda, the Reunification Palace , the Opera House. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then we will also visit the moving War Remnants Museum. Explore colorful outdoor markets and Dong Khoi Street , the city's upscale shopping boulevard with boutiques selling clothes and accessories designed by new Vietnamese designers, hill tribe crafts, high quality linens and housewares. Try the South's strong Vietnamese iced coffee and a banh mi (baguette sandwich). Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta Cruise (Breakfast, lunch)

This morning we will set off for a drive through the Mekong Delta to the town of Vinh Long, well-known for its floating market. Here. we will board our private boat Cai Be Princess Cruise for a cruise along the maze of waterways and canals to Vinh Long. We will stop at the home of a Bonsai gardener for a sumptuous Delta lunch, including the popular dish of 'Elephant ear fish, before continuing our exploration of the tributaries and canals of the delta. Toward the end of the day, we arrive in Can Tho city, heart of the Mekong Delta. Overnight in Can Tho.

 

Day 4: Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City – Flight to Hue (Breakfast, lunch)

You wake up to the sounds of the Mekong River welcoming a new day. Enjoy breakfast on a boat while cruising to the Cai Rang floating market in the early morning. Then, continue cruising along narrow creeks to visit a noodle factory and an orchard. After sampling local fruits, our guide will escort you back to the hotel by local boat through myriad canals. In the afternoon, we will drive back to Ho Chi Minh city for a flight to Hue. Upon arrival, our team in Hue will pick up and transfer to hotel.

 

Day 5: Hue Sightseeing (Breakfast, lunch)

Rising up in the ancient land, breakfast in hotel, we board on a private boat for cruising on the romantic Perfume River. This time we head out for the countryside. Being the ancient capital, Hue is surrounded with ancient tombs of emperors past, and a visit to some of these tombs will be on the itinerary for today. The charming Lady Pagoda (Thien Mu Pagoda) will be the first stop of the day. Setting in the converge of river, and gives you a great view on the Perfume River and surrounding area. From here you will take a drive to visit a royal tomb. This afternoon we will embark on a tour of Hue City including the Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City, the Imperial Museum and the Dong Ba market. Overnight in Hue.

 

Day 6: Hue - Hoi An Ancient Town (Breakfast, lunch)

Today we leave the world Heritage Hue to Hoi An Ancient Town passing the Hai Van pass. Once in Hoi An we will visit a local school in Hoi An to have some fun time with kids. Most kids here speak spoken English, yet they are very eager to meet and learn English and general discussions with your kids. After the school visit, we will check in our hotel and have some free time to explore the town. Overnight in Hoi An. 

 

Day 7: Tra Que Herbal Village - Hoi An Ancient town (Breakfast, lunch)

We will have a half day bike tour to visit rural village of Tra Que which once provided services and goods to merchants in Hoi An ancient town. Get relaxed while biking along the ever green, small lanes full of vegetables, flowers, water buffalos. Try to follow dirt preparation techniques and plant vegetable, herbs by yourself. Lunch in a local farmer house will be the highlight. In the afternoon, we will have a walking tour to visit Japanese covered bridge, Tan Ky Old hose, Phuc Kien Pagoda, Cham Museum and Chinese Assembly Hall. All these places symbolize the golden days of this ancient city.

 

Day 8: Hoi An - Danang - Hanoi (Breakfast)

After breakfast, our team will transfer you to Da Nang airport for a flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, our team will pick up and transfer to hotel. In the late afternoon, you will enjoy an unguided water puppet performance in Thang Long Theatre. Overnight in Hanoi

 

Day 9: Hanoi (Breakfast, lunch)

Full Day City Tour in Hanoi, Vietnam's artistic and intellectual capital. Explore the fascinating Old Quarter and its hundreds of specialty shops selling silk clothing, lacquer ware, embroidered linens, furniture, bamboo, cooking utensils, ceremonial objects and more. Enjoy people watching at stylish cafes. Shop for impressive modern art in the city's many galleries. On today tour, we will visit Hanoi's main cultural attractions, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his House on Stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Fine Arts Museum, the Temple of Literature and the Vietnam Ethnology Museum. Overnight in Hanoi.

 

Day 10: Halong Bay Excursion (Breakfast, lunch, dinner)

In the morning a shuttle bus (without tour guide) will come and pick you up, driving you to Halong Bay City, approximately 3.5 hours away. Once at Halong Bay City you are welcome on board for a four-hour cruise on the stunning bay, stopping along the way to visit one of the limestone caves in the area. As you are cruising, the boat crew will serve you a sumptuous local seafood lunch. The cruise boat will navigate around beautiful rock formations in the Bay, and passengers enjoy fresh air, stunning view and the sea. Overnight on a cruise boat. 

 

Day 11: Halong bay - Hanoi - Departure (Breakfast, lunch)

Choose Tai Chi exercises or a photo hunt to start your day. At sunrise, your breakfast will be served. Next, visit the nicest cave in Halong Bay, the amazing Sung Sot Cave. Return to the boat and check out of your cabin. Continue to explore the Bay further, drop by Ba Hang fishing village, Dog Islet, etc. On your way back to the habor, experience a cooking demonstration and then enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch. After disembarking, come back to Hanoi. In the evening, our guide and driver transfers you to the Noi Bai International airport for a flight home. End of Tour.
