Day 1 Home - Hanoi

Today is the start of your Vietnam family adventure tour. We have the pleasure to welcome you at the Noi Bai International Airport and transfer you to a family friendly hotel right in the Old Quarter of Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. No planned things to do today, so just check in and recover from jet lag. In the evening, you can explore the street food and shops right outside the hotel.

Day 2 Hanoi

Our adventure tour starts today. We will visit Tran Quoc Pagoda, the Temple of Literature (Van Mieu) and Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and Museum. The Mausoleum houses the remains of Ho Chi Minh, the founding father of the unified Vietnam. Explore our street food by tasting PHO, the most popular dish for Vietnam families. Then get back and tour the city by taking a Cyclo ride through the Old Quarter. The Old Quarter contains the original layout of Hanoi, before it began to sprawl outwards into the city it is today. In the late afternoon, we take in a performance at the famous Water Puppet Theatre.

Day 3-4 Halong Bay Cruise

A 3-4 hour drive from Hanoi brings us to Halong Bay. Thousands of limestone islands rise dramatically from the waters of Halong Bay. These limestone karst formations are hollowed by intricate caves. Aboard a sailing junk, visit some of the islands and caves and perhaps take a swim at Tip Top Beach, followed by a peaceful night beneath the stars. In the morning our boat continues the adventure to Man's Head Island and Tortoise Island and visit Luon cave by small bamboo boat. After an early lunch on board, we head back to Hanoi with time for shopping or further sightseeing until the overnight train to Hue. The train journey to Hue is an adventure in itself.

Day 5 Hue Cultural Complex

We arrive mid-morning and will transfer to our hotel. Hue was once the imperial capital. We take a tour of the Imperial Citadel which also contains the Forbidden Purple City, modeled on the Forbidden City in Beijing. Badly destroyed during the Tet Offensive in 1968, a significant restoration project has occurred. Then we will take a trip into the countryside by car to explore royal tombs. The famous one is that of Khai Dinh, boasting a luxury decoration and landscape. The tomb is surrounded by beautiful hills and rice fields. Get back to our hotel in the city in the late afternoon.

Day 6 Hoi An

Words cannot describe the beauty of this city, and it is there for your family to explore. After breakfast, explore the City by yourself. In the afternoon we will transfer to Hoi An. On our way there we stop at Lang Co beach for coffee and refreshments and then head onto the Hai Van Pass, stopping at the top to take in the stunning views north over Lang Co beach and south over Da nang City. When we arrive in Hoi An we check into our hotel before spending the rest of the day exploring and shopping in town by yourself.

Day 7 Hoi An – Walking tour

Our tour guide will meet you and take a walking tour around the ancient town to visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Pottery Museum, Tan Ky old house, the Cantonese congregation, the silk street of Hoi An, the temples and pagodas of Chinese appearance. In the afternoon you will be free to enjoy yourself, spending time at the beach or going shopping. The adventure tour of Vietnam will always find this ancient town a must see destination, and your family as first time travelers to the country will be buzzed by its beauty.

Day 8 Hoi An Rural Village

We have a half day tour to explore rural villages which once provided services and goods to merchants in Hoi An ancient town. Get relaxed while biking along the ever green, small lanes full of vegetables, flowers, water buffalos. Lunch in a local farmer will be the highlight. In the afternoon, you are free to enjoy its unique architecture, lifestyle, night markets, ancient houses which have been preserved for years. Or just have a great swim in the Cua Dai beach with your kids.

Day 9 Ho Chi Minh City

A short flight takes us to Ho Chi Minh City, the sprawling metropolis that once was the capital of South Vietnam and remains the country’s commercial center. In the afternoon, we take a short tour passing some of the city’s main sights stopping for some traditional Vietnamese food. Your family can visit the Thien Hau and Giac Vien pagodas and stroll through the immense Binh Tan Market. Continue with a visit to Reunification Palace, the residence of the presidents of South Vietnam before 1975, Saigon Post Office and the North Dame Cathedral.

Day 10 Mekong Delta

We drive to the Mekong Delta this morning. Hundreds of small islands and inlets are formed down here as the mighty Mekong River splinters up before reaching the Sea. As our boat cruises through small villages, it shows a different side of Vietnamese life. Be amazed at how the locals rely on the Mekong for everything! We will spend the night in a small village down in the delta with a great chance to interact with the locals.

Day 11 Ho Chi Minh City

Enjoy a bike tour to the heart of the rural villages. Our adventure in the Mekong delta continues as we explore traditional livelihoods of the farmers. Have a delicious lunch with a farmer’s house. Return in the afternoon to Ho Chi Minh City for some last minute shopping.

Day 12 Ho Chi Minh City – Home

Our adventure tour in Vietnam is going to an end. Take the opportunity to write some blog posts or share photos with your friends through social media networks. We have the pleasure to see your family off at the Tan Son Nhat International airport for your flight home.

General price policy:

Tour prices get cheaper and cheaper as group size gets bigger and bigger. More people traveling together will reduce the prices

Staying in three starred hotels will reduce tour prices significantly, as accommodation accounts for a big share of total costs. We generally use hotels from three stars upwards.

Meals can be selected based on bread& breakfast; half board or full board. It is quite cheaper if you let us take care of your meals. However you can take a half board basis to experience the cuisine yourself.

The more sights you visit, the more tickets are bought and the more miles are run.

Selecting to travel in high seasons is generally 15-25% more expensive than in low seasons. However if you book a tour well in advance you will get rid of the risk
