Halong Bay Marina / Tuan Chau Port

The Port is the property of the Tuan Chau Group. It replaces the old Ngoc Chau tourist pier and has become the most modern and largest tourist port in Halong Bay. The official trading name is Halong Bay Marina.  The port is 5.5 km from the old Bai Chay tourist wharf, 3 km from Thien Cung grotto; convenient for sea-road transportation: near sea line Hai Phong – Halong – Mong Cai, with road connected to the mainland, with helipad. The port is located in the southwest of Tuan Chau Island, a sheltered area, very close to the sights of Halong Bay. The facilities have been built to the highest standard for cruise vessels, with port system of 6 km in length, road system and parking areas around the port. The port infrastructure systems include water supply, drainage, electricity supply, lighting, communications, fuel supply, fire protection systems. The depth of the port is 9.0m allowing cruise boats to enter even under shallow tide. The Width is 140m. The smallest seat width is 200m, the Central area for picking up and dropping customers is designed to 750m width, very convenient for vessels. The entire port is surrounded by roads with the length of 4.400m, 12m wide, sidewalks total width of 7.5 meters with structure of concrete, natural stone pavement. Tourist Pier of Hon Gai Port

Hon Gai (or Hong Gai) is on the other side of Bai Chay Bridge. It is approximately 5-7 km from the Bai Chay Tourist Wharf. Most tourist activities, restaurants, hotels and cruise boats operate on this side of the peninsula. However for the past few years, Hon Gai Tourist Pier offer off-the beaten path for cruise boats and has therefore gained attention of cruise companies. The following reputable companies are operating cruise vessels using Hon Gai Tourist Pier.

-       Bai Tho Tourist Transportation Company operating 4 cruise boats including: Bai Tho Deluxe, Victory Cruise, Victory Star, Victory Private.

-       IndoChina Junk Company, operating 5 boats: Dragon Pearl, Red Dragon, The Prince, The Princess, Lagoon Explorer.

-       Byaha Cruises Company, operating 6 luxury cruise vessels: Bhaya Classic I, Bhaya Classic III, Bhaya Classic IV, Bhaya Legend, the Au Co

-       Paloma Cruise Company, operating the Paloma Cruise

-       Bai Tu Long Hung Nguyen Travel Company, operating Bai Tu Long Cruise, White Dolphin Cruise

       

Tourist Pier of Hoang Gia Group

It seems that the Pier is located within the property compound of the Hoang Gia Group right on the Bai Chay beach, in the middle of Bai Chay Tourist Wharf and Hon Gai Port. The following companies are using the pier:

-       Emeraude Classic Cruise company, operating 1 luxury Emeraude Cruise

-       Cruise Halong Company, operating 3 high end cruise boats: Halong Ginger, Halong Jasmine, Halong Violet.

-       Indochina Sails Company, operating Indochina Sails I, Indochina Sails II, Indochina Sails III, Valentine

       

Bai Chay Tourist Wharf

The Wharf is the first one serving tourists in Halong Bay. Only until recently has its role been less important due to the operations of other tourist piers and ports. Bai Chay tourist wharf is still attracting superior and less deluxe vessels and boats, mainly serving domestic travelers needs. Some of the reputable cruise companies are listed below for reference:
