Overview:

This is a very relaxing trip specially designed for the family with kids in the primary or secondary school. We will start from Hanoi city then going through many highlights of Vietnam including: Hanoi, Sapa, Halong Bay, Hue, Hoian, Ho Chi Minh, Phu Quoc then end in Ho Chi Minh city. The trip is running in a slow pace which allows your family to have more time for your children. We do not organize too much in your itinerary, so you will find the balance for activities for parent and kids to make the whole family have wonderful time. Apart from visiting the historical places we also put some programs for children such as visiting zoo, water parks, amusement park, etc. This trip creates a great chance for children as well as parent to experience the culture, wonder, food, lifestyle, friendly ethnic minorities of fascinating Vietnam. For this family trip, you will find adventure, comfort, interest, relaxation and fun.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Hanoi Key Attractions (breakfast, lunch)

Let your kids explore Vietnam cultural values beginning from Hanoi city. For early risers, an early morning visit is  Hoan Kiem Lake. The lake is a hive of activity from 5am as the locals take exercise around the lake, playing badminton, jogging, or practicing Tai Chi. In the morning, we will visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum- stern and bizarre attraction, Museum and Stilt House. Keep going to the One Pillar Pagoda - one of Vietnam's most iconic temples. Then you and your kids will be very interested in some of Hanoi’s famous ‘street food’ made and served by Vietnamese women in traditional dress. After lunch, we will drive to the Museum of Ethnology - a great place to learn about Vietnam’s 54 ethnic-minority peoples.

Day 2: Hanoi – Train to Sapa / Lao Cai (breakfast, lunch)

The Temple of Literature - an ancient university with row upon row of massive stone turtles inscribed with the names of graduates will be the first point. It is the place Hanoi often organizes celebrations to welcome most talented students who pass university entrance exams. Kids will love taking photos of stone turtles. We have lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will visit West Lake theme Park (in Summer only) where your kids can swim comfortable and enjoy interesting outdoor activities. After that, we will ride on a cyclo through the fascinating Old Quarter. Late in the afternoon, your kids will be really interested in seeing the famous traditional water puppet show at Thang Long Puppet Theatre. In the evening, we take the night train to Lao Cai.

Day 3: Sapa Trekking Tour (breakfast, lunch)

Sapa - the Queen of the Mountains with a breathtaking valley, lofty mountains, is the gateway to another world of mysterious minority cultures and beautiful landscapes. We pick you up from the train station at around 5AM, and transfer to Sapa (30 km away). After breakfast, we will drive to one of the most beautiful villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van where the Black H'mong and the Dzay people live. Here, your family will start trekking and enjoy fresh and cool air, fascinating landscape of the imposing mountain ranges. The kids will love the chance to see the real, living Vietnam and get closed to nature. You will discover world's most beautiful terraced rice fields, visit some local families on the way and learn unique culture and life of these ethnic minorities. Get back to Sapa by private car, free at leisure in the evening. Overnight in a Sapa hotel.

Day 4: Sapa Ethnic Market Tour & Train to Hanoi (breakfast, lunch)

The markets in the Northern Vietnam are always a spotlight for any Sapa tour and are the colorful meeting places for the hill tribes to sell their products, or just for catching up on the latest news, gossip, or seeking for lover. In the morning, we will drive to visit one of the weekly markets: Can Cau Market on Saturdays, Bac Ha Market or Muong Hum Market or Muong Khuong Market on Sundays, Cao Son Market on Wednesdays, Lung Khau Nhin Market on Thursdays and Coc Ly Market on Tuesdays. (The visit to markets depends on your date schedule). The kids will be not only excited about seeing the colorful traditional customs of ethnic minority groups but also interested in buying some souvenirs for their friends and loved ones. In the late afternoon, we will come back to Lao Cai City to catch the night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on the train.

Day 5: Hanoi – Halong Bay Cruise (breakfast, lunch, dinner)

After picking you up from the train station in the early morning, we will get back to the hotel and have a breakfast before a shuttle bus picks us up for Halong Bay - Vietnam most scenic sight, a recognized World Natural Heritage Site and highlight of any tour of Viet Nam. At noon, we will get onboard a traditional wooden boat, drink and feel the cool and comfortable atmosphere on board while cruising through limestone formations. After a relaxing break, enjoy an excellent seafood lunch. Then we will visit the wonderful Ha Long bay’s famous grottoes and caves. An opportunity for kids to dive off the boat and have a pleasant swimming in the deep blue water of the East Sea before lying on the sundeck and view a Halong sunset. Dinner is serviced on board with delicious fresh food. Overnight on boat.

Day 6: Halong Bay - Hanoi & Flight to Hue (breakfast, lunch)

Halong Bay is known as a majestic and mysterious natural wonder. Imagine that around 3000 or more incredible islands rising from the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin creating a breathtaking beauty. It is a pure art, a priceless collection of unfinished sculptures given by the nature. It is absolutely wonderful when you get up early to catch the sunrise on the bay, do some exercises on the sundeck and relax with a cup of hot coffee or tea when the boat cruises to explore more and more about Halong Bay. All leaves your family with a full sweet memory. Your kids will love taking beautiful photographs and play in the fresh water. Come back to Halong city at around 13PM for the transfer back to Hanoi at 5PM.

We will then drive to the airport for a short flight to Hue with Vietnam airlines. Overnight in a Hue hotel.

Day 7: Hue (breakfast, lunch)

Traveling to Hue city is like going back in time. Known as an ancient capital city of many original historical vestiges with more than 100 architectural works to be extremely reflecting the life of Emperors and Mandarins under Nguyen’s reign, Hue city has become major tourist attractions for visitors from all over the world. After having breakfast, our tour starts in Imperial Citadel where the kids can dress up as the Emperor and Empress with new and enjoyable feelings. After that, we will sit on the board cruising on the romantic Perfume River and visit Hue's best-known religious sites such as Thien Mu Pagoda. In the afternoon we will visit the enchanting mausoleum of emperor Khai Dinh  – the famous emperor of the Nguyen dynasty. Overnight in a Hue hotel.

Day 8: Hue – Hoi An (breakfast, lunch)

After breakfast, we will drive to Hoi An -  a major Asian trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries whose architecture and relaxed lifestyle hasn’t changed much over the years. We will drive to pass through the village of Lang Co Beach before crossing over the famous Hai Van Tunnel to enter Da Nang where we will visit the Cham Museum - the finest collection of Cham sculptures in the world. Then we will take the ocean exit highway to Hoi An. After checking in our hotel, we will have a visit to a local primary school having an excellent project on environmental protection. Your kids will exchange ideas and learn how the kids there help clean up the town and plant new trees, a highlight of this tour! Then have lunch and relax at local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we will have a walking tour, visiting famous attractions including Japanese Bridge, Chinese Assembly Hall, tailor shops and local pottery shops. Free at leisure to explore the city at night. Overnight in a Hoi An hotel.

Day 9: Hoi An – Flight to Ho Chi Minh City (breakfast, lunch)

In the morning, we will have a half day bike tour visiting a local farmer who plants vegetables and fruits to supply to Hoi An. The house is by the rice field and is set among a peaceful rural area. Learn how the farmer do the farming. Enjoy lunch with the family.

In the late afternoon, we will transfer your family to the airport for the flight with Vietnam airlines to Ho Chi Minh city. Arrive at Tan Son Nhat airport, welcome by our tour guide and driver, we will transfer to your hotel in the CBD. Nowhere does one feel the dynamic changes occurring in Vietnam more than in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon. This city exists in most people's minds as an exciting, exotic part of the lure of Southeast Asia. Let spend the evening at your own schedule to discover Ho Chi Minh with its magnanimous history and a rich culture.

Day 10: Ho Chi Minh city (breakfast, lunch)

Depart from our hotel for the Reunification Palace, the former Presidential Palace for the president of the South Vietnam. After that we will visit War Remnant Museum, where you can see countless artifacts, photographs and pictures documenting the Vietnam War. We will stop at Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post office to get our good shots for our memory of the biggest city in Vietnam. Our delicious lunch will be served at a nice restaurant in the central city. In the afternoon, your kids will be interested and excited at Saigon Zoo to see vegetation and animals. There are approximately 130 animal species which are living at Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens. It is worth noting that most of the species is listed in the Redbook of Vietnam and the World. Some valuable and rare animals include Asian Tiger, Golden Cat, Yellow - checked Gibbon, Asian Elephant, etc. Overnight in a Ho Chi Minh hotel.

Day 11 : Ho Chi Minh –  Mekong Cruise - Can Tho (breakfast, lunch)

How much have you known of this low-lying land? Well, today we will leave Saigon for the town of Cai Be (80 kms away) in the Mekong Delta to take a river private boat cruise. This journey cruises through floating markets, rice fields, fruit plantations and so on along a densely connected network of rivers and canals. An absolutely amazing view of a totally flat, low-lying delta that seems to have no have no boundary will bring you an immense feeling of this region. Take the opportunity to explore local life on floating boats, which is very much in contrast to life on the mountains in Sapa! We will drive for around 40 minutes before having an Overnight stay in Can Tho City.

Day 12: Can Tho Floating Market – Phu Quoc Island (breakfast, lunch)

In the early morning, we will take the boat cruise to see Cai Rang floating market - the nicest one with heaps of rowing boats full of fruits and vegetable and local produce, truly highlights of any tours where you will enjoy the nice landscapes and see the daily activities of the local people. Your family will roam through the village to visit a rice husking mill, a rice noodles making shop which are nice chances to discover the daily life of Vietnamese people in Mekong Delta. Kids will discover the unique culture of this area.

In the afternoon, we will transfer to Can Tho airport for the short flight with Vietnam airlines to Phu Quoc island in the late afternoon. Overnight in a Phu Quoc bungalow by the beach.

Day 13&14: Phu Quoc Island Diving (breakfast, lunch)

We will have a diving tour today. Phu Quoc island is at its best, making diving in Vietnam an all-year-round activity. This island is having a largest Marine Protected Area (in the south of the Island), so there are many opportunities for you to discover marine life. The coral is pristine and the scattering of small islands at the bottom of Phu Quoc is home to a rich variety of marine bio-diversity.  Enjoy the full day of water activities for your family, especially your kids in Phu Quoc Island. The next day is free by the bungalow by the Long Beach! Taxi, bikes, shopping, lunch and dinner depends on your own schedule for today. Overnight in a Phu Quoc bungalow by the beach.

Day 15: Phu Quoc – Ho Chi Minh Departure (breakfast)

Today we are free at leisure for last minute shopping then check-out around noon. Take the taxi to the airport close by and fly back to Ho Chi Minh airport where you will wait for your flight home. Or you take a direct flight to Singapore and wait for your onward flight home. Trip ends.
